Utilising Firebase on a number of different projects for some of their World Class Clients, the team at TBWA\X are well-versed in the Firebase ecosystem. These clients and projects include:

  • AB InBev: The world’s leading brewer. TBWA\X built a loyalty app for store owners to earn points and see the availability of the entire collection of AB InBev’s stable of brands.
  • Esso (ExxonMobil): A leading global gasoline provider that needed a loyalty platform where their customers earn points by refuelling, and spend these points in the Apps on different rewards. Built on native iOS & Android Apps and a website.
  • Intratuin: the largest retailer of plants, outdoor lifestyle & gardening equipment in the Netherlands. TBWA\X built an App on Flutter, Flamelink & Firebase where users can see fresh gardening-related content, the functionality to add one’s own plants and get messages & notifications of when to water them and how to care for them, as well as a shop and vouchers/exclusive deals to drive customer loyalty.

THE CHALLENGE:

With each of these different use cases, TBWA\X ran into the challenge of allowing (non-developer) content managers to work directly in the Firebase Console, as it was hard for a non-developer person to understand and having them working directly in the console was prone to mistakes.

THE SOLUTION:

That’s when TBWA\X found Flamelink, the Firebase CMS. With its flexible, customizable dashboard and interface and seamless integration with Firebase, Flamelink allowed the TBWA\X content managers to easily manage content.

THE RESULT:

Once the team at TBWA\X got Flamelink set up and connected to their Firebase projects, Content Managers were easily able to manage content themselves via the Flamelink interface instead of these content updates being made by their developers or other more technical people. This meant that these technical people and teams were freed up to focus on what they do best, the innovation to build out digital customer experiences and applications that bring these brands to life.

  • Firebase Hosting (for web projects): deploy a single-page web app, a mobile app landing page, or a progressive web app without all the hassle.
  • React (for websites): open-source, front end, JavaScript library for building user interfaces or UI components
  • Flutter (for mobile development of native iOS/Android): Flutter is an open-source UI software development kit created by Google. It is used to develop applications for Android, iOS, Linux, Mac, Windows, Google Fuchsia, and the web from a single codebase.
