Felelős Gasztrohős
A multi-channel, digital platform to educate the public about the importance of sustainable eating built with Firebase & Flamelink.
Felelős Gasztrohős is an NGO on a mission to spread the word about environmentally conscious, responsible meals, sustainable eating and to help the environmental efforts of Hungarian restaurants.
The App’s content underpins this mission by offering their environmentally conscious consumers:
- a list of seasonal produce
- a shopping list curated with sustainability in mind
- stores that sell organic and local produce
- a hub of certified Sustainable Restaurants
- an educational platform to help educate consumers about sustainable eating
- an array of helpful tools to drive Felelős Gasztrohős’ sustainability efforts.
THE CHALLENGE:
Felelős Gasztrohős needed a platform that could securely handle registered users and the content they upload, as well as the ability to check and allow this content in a quick and easy way. The platform also needed to manage multiple databases with multiple collections and schemas for maps, lists etc, all with the ability to select which content is displayed on the various digital touchpoints (for example the App and the website). A key consideration for the content managers was that these are easily distinguishable and manageable.
THE SOLUTION:
When Felelős Gasztrohős were first exploring database options, one of their first considerations was Firebase.
It was really important that the administrative interface for content was straightforward and easy-to-use for any non-technical users. Which was why they decided to use Flamelink, the Firebase CMS. Flamelink effortlessly integrates with Firebase and is the perfect solution for managing different content types, schemas, even relationships between them. Plus it’s intuitive, so it was easy to onboard non-technical users.
Once they’d created their schemas and started to migrate data from their previous website, they were able to flesh out the content of the platform. Plus, with the power of real-time updates were really a game changer for their UX.
